Anonymous asked: how did you get into making beats and how did you (as a student) afford mpcs?

short version: I was a 12 year old “hip hop head” and I wanted to make beats like Pete Rock and Dilla. no one taught me how to do it, I was just determined to make quality music.

ebay! haha but don’t get it confused though. I learned how to make beats on my computer way before I got an mpc. the main reason for getting the mpc was simply because software can get boring at times. plus I can make cool beat videos…
